2 Simple Steps To Powerful Life Change

Most people want a better life and want to make changes to their lives that they can be proud of…but here is the intimidating part—Big changes can be difficult, and they often take more time than we are willing to give.

The secret to making life changes is to take many steps, even small ones, and pretty soon you’re getting somewhere. Start looking for specific ways to make your life better, and to improve yourself; and even if you don’t accomplish anything immediately, you are preparing yourself to win. Sometimes just thinking about change, sets your mind and your motivation in motion.

Know just to be clear, we’re not looking for an excuse to avoid difficult tasks here, but you wouldn’t expect to quit cigarettes, alcohol, and complaining all at once, right? The secret lies in working to just make things better today, in any small way.

Oftentimes, just seeing those small results will motivate you for attempting the more difficult steps.

Here are 2 simple actions to consider.

  • 1. Write down some things you’d like to change. This makes the possibility more real, and gets your mind working. Eventually you can make this “wish list” into real goals, with a specific plan.
  • 2. List the good things you’ve got. This may seem irrelevant, but a good mood makes life better. for example—have you ever bough a specific model +  color car before and as soon as you got going, you started seeing that same model everywhere? Why, because you were mentally in-sync with that car. The same thing happens when you get in-sync with an idea or dream.

Imagine how it will affect your frame of mind to start seeing good things everywhere. If you thought about the whole process, you realize that you never build a house all in one shot—it’s too difficult—so you build it one board & nail at a time.

Achieving Your Success Driven Dreams

Have you ever wondered how successful people did it? Are you wondering when your day of success will come? If you are, then you definitely need to know the secret to success. First of all, you need to remember that knowing how to be successful is not really a big secret. One so called secret to success is known as goal setting.

Knowing how to set your goals in life will enable you to have some sort of guide that you need to follow in order for you to realize your dream. To create a goal, you need to have a long term goal and a series of short terms goals.

The first step in setting your goals is to think about your goals. Try to take some time off from your every day schedule and think about your goals. Think about what you want to accomplish and also think about how you will be able to accomplish them. You may also want to think how you will feel once you accomplished your goals.

You may also want to include how you will benefit once you achieve your goals and what skills you need in order for you to achieve your goals.

Writing your goals is also very important part of setting your goals. Writing it will provide you with something that you will be reminded of when it comes to thinking about what you want to accomplish. If you forget your goals or you stray away from your goals, you will have something to consult in order to get you back on track.

You need to remember that long term goals will need you to achieve short term goals. Long term goals are what you need to achieve for years. Short term goals are goals that you need to achieve in a matter of months, weeks, or even days.

You need to remember that when you create goals, set a deadline that is flexible and doable. Also, you have to create goals that you can be passionate about in achieving. If you create goals that you are not passionate about, then you will less likely want to achieve it.

These are the secrets of goal setting. You need to remember that setting goals has its techniques. By mastering the art of goal setting, you will be able to be sure that you will be closer to achieving your dreams. The first step to success is by creating goals that you want to achieve.

Please, No More Massive Changes

One of the most common things that happens when your life seems out of control and you’ve got endless demands tugging at you from all directions, is that you quickly begin feeling overwhelmed, fatigued – and just plain stressed out!

But what most people do not realize is that balancing your life does not have to always require massive changes or huge paradigm shifts.  You don’t have to quit your job, abandon your family and escape to a remote island somewhere in the Caribbean in order to feel peaceful and happy.  In fact, true balance is something that starts WITHIN YOU first and foremost – no matter what else is happening in your outer place of your life.

Let me share with you three simple ways to begin building a greater sense of inner peace and harmony in your life so you can have a better year. The 3 things are 1. Relax; 2. Relate; 3. Resilience

1)  (RELAX) Quiet time.
One of the first things we tend to sacrifice when we’re busy is our personal time.  Instead we devote all of our energy and attention to caring for others, multi-tasking, meeting responsibilities and “being productive.”  Over time this depletes our energy and we begin to feel more and more burdened by our responsibilities.

To live a more balanced life, quiet time to yourself is CRUCIAL.  You may believe that you don’t have any time available for yourself, but something amazing happens when you consistently MAKE time; you find yourself feeling happier and more energetic, your focus improves – and you still get plenty done!  Just a few minutes spent sitting quietly in meditation or reading a book can do wonders in transforming stress into peace and happiness.

2)  (RELATE TO YOU – is about caring for you)
Beyond making time for things you enjoy, there are other ways to nurture and love yourself on a daily basis.  Getting a full 8 hours of sleep (or as much as you personally need) is a great start, as well as eating nutritious food, exercising daily and speaking kindly to yourself.

Have you ever noticed that when you’re really tired or stressed, even the smallest problem can seem like a nightmare?  On the other hand, when you’re feeling well-rested and centered, you’re much better able to handle upsets.  Caring for yourself is one sure way to consistently replenish your energy, inner peace and joy – which means you’ll have the strength to handle whatever comes your way.

3)  (Resilience – Is about Flexibility).
Did you know that one of the biggest causes of stress is rigid expectations?  We all do it from time to time; get a mental picture of how our lives “should be” – and get really annoyed when our outer circumstances don’t cooperate!  One of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is a flexible state of mind.  In other words, learn how to detach from unrealistic expectations and go with the flow.

When you have a flexible mind-set, you’re able to deal with crises and problems much more easily because you’re not working against a preconceived notion of how things “should be”.  You’re able to tap into your creative problem-solving skills and move through challenges without all the drama and frustration.  Be like the tree that bends with the breeze – and you’re much less likely to break!

Unlocking Your Life’s Direction In 4 Easy Steps

Let’s talk about 4 simple but powerful steps to discovering your life’s direction so you can attract more meaning and fulfillment this year in your life.

Here’s a quick question for you…

If someone walked up to you right now and asked the question, “Are you living a life of purpose and significance“, what would your immediate answer be?

Would you have to stop and sit awhile to think of something to tell them because you either are not sure or are too embarrassed to admit the truth, or would you be able to simply answer from a place of hope, power, and certainty?

I’ve found that many times, when you take a deeper look at some of the factors that cause people to feel depressed and unhappy, the underlying cause is usually that they feel their lives lack meaning and direction.

But the great news is that it is a very simple process to give your life meaning and direction. All you need to do is find a purpose for your life. Now I know that this may sound difficult, but when you understand what to do and how to do it, it really not that hard; and I want to give you a few clue to figuring this out, right now!

It doesn’t matter whether or no you are depressed and unhappy, figuring out your purpose or your guiding theme can help you; and most importantly, understanding who you are and what you want out of life can help you achieve more, be more, and do more. One of the best benefits is that it can also help you make better decisions each day…and better decisions lead to a great life.

Okay, let’s begin!

Please know that finding your purpose may take some time and thought because what you are doing is very important and very meaningful. But the thing is, is there anything in life that is more important than you and your wellbeing? Is it worth the time to invest in yourself to reach what you believe is a successful life? Once you have made the decison that you are important, we can move on together with this exercise.

Are you ready? Great, let’s move!.

Here are four basic steps to help you get this done…
1.Look Back
2. Look Inside
3. Look Forward
4. Look Outside

Step One: Look Back
Think about your past especially the high points and successes. Make a list of all your successes and all the points of pride and accomplishment. Spend time simply thinking about your childhood, school years, and other phases of your life so you can make a list that is as complete as possible. Do you spot any trends among these accomplishments and successes?

Step Two: Look Inside
Make a list of positive words or attributes that people use to describe you such as hard working, creative, passionate, or determined. Then make a list of words or attributes you use to describe yourself. What are your gifts and talents? Make sure to list the ones that you don’t currently use as well as those you currently develop and utilize. After reviewing and comparing these lists make a list of five or six core values that are your top priorities.

Step Three: Look Forward To Your Dreams
Now take the time to dream a little. If time and money were no object how could you contribute to the world, your family, your career field, your friends, and your community? What are your passions? What moves you, excites you, or angers you?

Step Four: Look OutsideReview your notes from Steps One, Two and Three and identify your top goals and priorities. Make alist of these and then number them in order of importance.

Wrong Focus – Wrong Result

I was listening to one of my favorites speakers the other day – Zig Ziglar – who I believe is an awesome writer, motivational speaker, and a powerful knowledgeable person to learn from.

If you ever get the opportunity to invest in any of his products or services, I believe that it will definitely help you improve your life – so you have my recommendation when it comes to Zig.

There is this story that Zig Ziglar tells of a thief, a man named Emmanuel Nenger who lived somewhere around 1887, in a small neighborhood – kinda like most of the rural communities back then…we’ll call his Manny for short

The story goes that Manny went to the small town grocery store one day to buy some turnip greens, and in payment for his items, He gives the cashier a $20 bill. As the cashier begins to put the money in the cash drawer and give Manny his change, she notices some of the ink from the $20 bill is coming off on her fingers which are damp from the turnip greens.

She looks at Manny, a man she has known for many years, then she looks at the smudged bill. Now Manny is a trusted friend; she has known him all her life; he can’t be a counterfeiter, so she gives Manny his change, and he leaves the store. But back then, $20 was a whole lot of money, so eventually the cashier calls the police.

The police verify that the $20 bill is a counterfeit and get a search warrant to look through Manny’s home. In his attic, they find where he is reproducing money. Manny is such a master artist, that he is literally painting $20 bills with brushes and paint!

But also in the attic they find three portraits Manny had also painted. They seized the portraits and eventually sold them at auction for $16,000 or a little more than $5,000 per painting. Now keep in mind that $16,000 was plenty money back in 1887.

But here’s the irony of the whole story. It took Manny almost as long to paint a fake $20 bill as it did for him to paint a $5,000 portrait! While it is true that Manny turned out to be a thief, the only person that he really stole the most from, was himself.

Unfortunately, many people channel their strengths into the wrong things – strengths that can be put into areas that can not only produce rich rewards for the individual, but rewards that the world could enjoy – sometimes for many years to come. Where are you focusing your strengths?
