Grow Up – Make Some Things Happen
Our physical lives definitely reflect and correlate with our spiritual lives!
Here’s an example…
Every parent looks forward to their child/children growing to be successful and to make something happen for themselves. As a parent, once you have laid or established a proper foundation or path for your children to follow, and have groomed them with their right morals, traits, and habits for successful living, you kinda expect that at some point they will use the tools you have given them to succeed. You look forward to them taking advantage of the principles you have taught them so they can make wonderful thing happen in their own lives.
After you have invested your time, your wisdom, your resources into the lives of your kids, you look forward to them progressing and making you proud.
God our Father is no different…
There comes a time when you and I as children of God have got to grow up and make some positive things happen in our lives that makes God proud of what He has invested in us. Our Heavenly Father looks into our future and sees us as powerful, successful, influential children who bring happiness and glory to Him by the way we impact the world in positive way – because we are his kids.
Now sometimes, it may take us a little while during our lives to catch up with His vision for us and begin literally walking the path of our destiny, because we have to move from a mindset of victimization and defeat that we inherited in our former lives (sin nature), and accept His mindset of conquest and victory (our new nature after Christ) – but nonetheless, like every other parent, God want children who make Him proud.
And because the Spirit Of Jesus lives inside of you and me, we already have the power within us to bring glory to our Heavenly Father…
Ephesians 3:20 states – Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us…
In other words, God can do awesome things in our lives, but the power to make the reaction occur, lies within you and me!
When things do not go the way we want, most people never want to take responsibility. It’s always someone else fault – so instead of us achieving and moving forward in spite of our challenges, mishaps, and faults, we often find ourselves on the sidelines of life, moaning and groping about our misfortunes.
Here are 2 things you want to avoid in life is you ever plan on living successfully and stay moving forward and growing to become who God has indeed called you to be.
They are:
1. Ingratitude
2. Pride
Ingratitude – (Deuteronomy 8:8) Many times we are quick to forget what God has done for us. God said to Moses and the people, “there is good that I have set aside for you, a place where you will have what you desire and give thanks to the Provider – but be careful not to forget the Lord and become proud and declare that you own power and might have gotten you this wealth...”
In a nutshell, all God was saying was that you and I can’t truly succeed without Him; we can’t truly prosper without Him, and we definitely can’t grow without Him.
Pride – You inability to accept correction. Proverbs 14:12 says that “there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death“.
Our parents corrected us because they understood that when we continued to do what was wrong, it would interfere with our proper growth and development. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it“.
Correction improves our chances for success – and God know this intimately, so this is the reason the Bible states that God chastises those whom He loves. When you accept correction, you literally become willing to receive instruction and wisdom – and this creates a powerful space in your future to walk into provision and promotion from God.
There is so much that you and I are capable of doing and becoming for God – We have the capacity to make our Heavenly Father extremely proud of us as His children – and it even does not matter how much times we mess up, make mistakes, or miss the mark – know that God loves you even in spite of your faults.
His will is that you and I take what He invests into our lives, and makes something powerful and positive happen daily – which will make Our Father smile and say, “That’s My Child”
